LAST MINUTE INFORMATION
Directions/Access to the car park IMPORTANT!!!!!!
The map reference for the venue is:- https://email@example.com,-0.8068868,15z
The College car park in Bede House Lane will be open as usual. Due to road works, the Sherwood Avenue end of Bede House lane is closed so you have to come down Barnbygate and turn right into Bede House Lane. The car park is just on your left as the road bends. It’s almost adjacent to the venue and very easy to find. Note that the car park closes at 1030pm for those attending the concert. Any cars left after that time will be locked in. You will have to ring me on 078 378 450 44 but I may not be available right away!
Thanks again to Bruce Perrin and Barnes and Mullins for their sponsorship of LUTHERIE 2018.
Change of Speaker
Sadly, Colin Gough is unlikely to be able to speak at LUTHERIE. His wife has been taken seriously ill and our thought are with him and his family at this difficult time. His session will still go ahead and will be taken by George Stoppani who has collaborated with him on this research. We are very grateful for George for stepping in.
Newark is undergoing major work on its sewage system and there are roadworks, contraflows, blocked roads and one way systems. You are advised to allow a bit more time for your journey.
The venue will be open from 0930am. Refreshments are available in the hall which is accessed via the church. The Trade stands should all be set up by then.
As usual, there will be a free buffet lunch in the hall. A number of people will contribute to this including many of the Violin School students. WE CANNOT POSSIBLY KNOW THE EXACT CONTENTS OF EACH DISH so, if you have allergies, food preferences or any other complications, please make your own arrangements. DO NOT BRING FOOD OR DRINKS INTO THE CHURCH. This a condition of our hire and makes a lot of work for the people clearing up.
Violin School student Marios Pavlou is initiating a student project to make five violins in October. These will be sold in 2019 and the proceeds will go to aiding Syrian refugees. At 1330 we will introduce the project and suggest ways that you can become involved. (Andreas Pahler has already pledged five sets of wood!)
Starting the sessions
Lastly, and THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. We need to start the sessions on time. PLEASE sit down beforehand i.e at 1030, 1330 and 1515. Its very frustrating to have to keep asking people and delays the sessions. I’d appreciate your cooperation.
1330-Peter Sheppard- Skaevaard
I look forward to meeting you and I hope you have a rewarding and enjoyable day. Please get in touch if you need to.
